Hi Cod,
Thanks for the Info about the new mic. I am finding it difficult to fine the new Mic for X-Trail however, it is easy to find the New mic for Qashqai. So I am thinking to try the new Qashqai mic on the X-trail even though the mic shape are different, the connectors are the same so it might just be possible it works. I might need to modify the location of the mic in the map light. I've installed the new head unit and I am able to use it most of the time by starting the car and immediately put it in reverse gear before the Nissan logo is loaded and press the camera and menu buttons few times and it will stay on till I turn it off. Every thing works apart from the problem I am having with the mic when receiving or making a call, the other person will not hear me unless I use my phone's speaker phone. Maybe this problem is because the keys are not yet coded. I've booked for my keys to be Re coded next week.

can you please provide a wiring diagram for connecting the new Mic as your statement below

"Once you’ve got that you need to add 2 extra wires for the microphone, into the original connector. Easy enough as I had spare cables form making the harness.
Green cable needs to go to the green cable left on the head unit harness and the yellow to ground."

You need to check wiring “live mic-in / virtual ground”

I've sorted out the mic issue. I used the new Qashqai mic as I was unable to fine the new X-trail one and it works perfect. Everything else is working fine apart from the Part assist which is saying unavailable just like @ Cabrioman who was having the same problem (see page 25). I took it to Nissan dealer, they checked the head unit, they said everything is fine with the head unit but the lane camera is faulty that is why it is not working. so a week later they change the lane camera to a new one and spend two days to try and sort out the problem only to tell me that it can not work because the head unit is a Qashqai head unit and it can not work on an X-trail. they gave me a 12 page report with all the tests they have done. they simple explanation is the head unit is fine however the ECU is not seen it as part of the overall car system. when the check the bus system communication, info is been sent to the head unit but the head unit is not sending info back, they said because the NATS system within the head unit is blocking that comms. So they offer to reinstall my original head unit for free. but I choose to lose the park assist which I hardly use so that I can keep the new head unit which have the car play and Android auto which I use every time I am in the car.

I’m no expert on these matters but I don’t recall anyone on here reporting that they have successfully done that transplant.

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the original Qashqai J11 (1.5dci 2016) microphone with a Sinosmart tablet or other? Naturally, it would be necessary to identify the wires and terminals on the plugs next to the radio and then adapt a jack to connect to the tablet. The idea was to avoid passing another cable/microphone because the original has good quality. Thanks to anyone who can give tips or links.
