I have recently purchased a 2017 Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi Tenka 5 door hatchback, after clearing all the recent sat nav destinations and entering family & friends home addresses I would like to go into my places and change the address shown to the persons name, ie ‘123 bright street, anywhere AB23 4CD’ to ‘Fred’, hope this makes sense, can somebody advise me on how to do this please, all help and advice appreciated

Such addresses (locations) are contained within a Point Of Interest (POI) file which is created in Microsoft Excel or similar (Open Office which is free). These are .csv files. Its a similar process to Speed Camera files which are points of interest possibly leading to speeding fines when ignored.....

Its a 3 column multi row file that you create and load into the Connecta Nav box via USB stick. 2 file columns are Lat and Long co-ordinates and the 3rd column is a related identifiable name. Each row is therefore a place name or address if you like...either way its a position on this planet...house/pub or speed camera etc.

I have forgotten the procedure for this game but its in a post or two on this site under POI titles.
What I remember is that I had two Excel files with distinct .csv file names configured with all the Lat/Long info

example file names:
For Speed Cams: nissan_connect.csv
For Personal Addresses: colins_POI.csv

The Nav system looks for a .csv file on upload from the USB stick and will overwrite an existing file each time an upload is performed. So keep copies of files.

I'll likely take a look at the procedure today as I had reset my Connecta box on a Battery Change a few weeks back.

I think that, if you go into the address book each entry appears with a little pen/pencil icon.
Press that and I think it allows you to edit the name that the system has stored, whilst retaining the address.
Other than that, I guess you will need to search through the handbook

There is Address Book editing that I've never used, other than perhaps assigning Home. Pity that it doesn't download from a mob phone. So its POI madness for me so far.

When they are gone...they are gone. No backup either.
