Yet to fully mount footwells but they seem good too.

Really like the look of these, very tempted. However I thought they were plug and play ?

Hi guys.
Looking very nice, thank you for sharing.
So the fitting of the footwell light didnt need any cutting of wires? Just plug in the white connector next to the ODB plug and light came on?
Where did you exactly fit them? Can you share a picture of this maybe?
Are there any adjusting of the brightness? Are they dimmed together with the instrument light adjuster?
Did you just order the orginal partno. ke630hv51a?

Hi guys.

No, the plug next to the OBD2 connector didnt make the footwell lights work... the plug for them is tucked up at the back of the bonnet and petrol cap.

That loom for the footwell lights plugs into that plug and works straight away.

What I did - rather than splicing into the cars loom, was use the positap (came with the puddle lights) and tapping into the power and earth that are the wires from the footwell lights.

I'll have a pic to show.

The footwell lights have a 2amp fuse in it's own loom and seems to be plenty for the footwell and puddle lights.

I hope this makes sense.

The plug next to the OBD2 connector I think is for the puddle lights but the puddle lights I got didnt come with white plug... but a small black "led controller" with 5 wires and 9 positap connectors.

In essence, my cars original loom hasnt been touched at all. Only the footwell lights loom.

There isn't any dimming or brightness options no...

Just off or on.

I've wired mine to the footwell lights which come on and go off with unlocking/locking and ignition on and off.

Yes, ordered from ebay via the part number.

In the kit, theres some stainless T bolts.
Flat plate with a threaded bolt in it. This slides into the sill... there is 8 rubber bungs in the sill as standard.

If you do fit it, it is fairly simple and easy.
The box comes with instructions etc.

My wiring isnt as per instructions as I'm too much if a wimp to splice a wrong wire and break my car.

But how I have done it, is perfectly safe and works as OEM.

If you do go for a set, i can only advise on how i did mine... will happily help all I can.

The older model were plug and play.

It maybe possible with an older set with the white plug that it may just plug and play but my kit (which was confirmed before purchase to fit a 2019/69 plate J11B)

Apologies, I miss read your comment.

The footwell lights (genuine ones) are actually fitting into the scuttle panel in foot well (corner under the fuel cap and bonnet release)

I havent drilled mine yet - 28mm hole iirc.

Mine are placed hanging over the panel for moment until I get an appropriate drill bit/size.

Footwell lights loom into car loom. This is the plug tucked away above/behind the fuel and bonnet catch.

Showing the fuse built into the loom.

Here the doors open so footwell light on. The transparent plug is the footwell lights led to footwell light loom. Youhave to push the 2 wires into the plug yourself. Nothing to it.

The red and white wires here are the power and earth from the footwell led itself.
I used the positaps to use these as the power feed for the puddle lights - just 2 wires, power and earth.

Hi All,

Just had the dealership fit my welcome puddle lights and footwell lights. I bought OEM parts off Ebay and they happily fitted them for me.
Just have a question re the footwell lights, I thought they would stay on whilst driving, but they turn off with the interior lights. Is this how they are supposed to operate or is there a way to keep them on while driving?

Thanks
