I took it to Nissan who looked at it and advised me there is a gearbox fault and it needs to be replaced for them to do it and replace it they told me 13500!!!! I am in total shock and can not believe this!! Has anyone else had this problem etc PLEASE HELP THANKYOU

Welcome to this forum.
First of all I'll assume you have the CVT auto transmission, since you haven't said.
I'd contact Nissan and see what they say. There is certainly documented history of Nissan CVT failure, particularly in the USA but also here, and reports of Nissan contributing towards the cost of repairs - which to be honest don't usually go as high as £13,500. That must be more than the car's worth?
You may need to demonstrate a full Nissan service history to have a chance of succeeding - do you have that?
There are other posts on here dealing with this issue - try looking at some appearing at https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... rums.co.uk

You don't say where you are in the country.
I don't have any experience of non-Nissan firms but this one's come up in discussions previously:
https://www.stephensengineering.co.uk/c ... on-repair/
... and these also come up in a search:

You could phone them and discuss - might help you to understand the situation if nothing else. Try the nearest first?

What were the faults in the transmission? Normally CVT replacement is due to belt slippage and shows is self as judder when pulling away. Whereas loss of drive/loss of power and eml on is usually caused by the speed sensors failing, dont get me wrong they aint cheap neither but if there's speed sensor faults in there then there has been updated speed sensors and technical bulletin released for the smaller cvt thats on the 1.6 petrol and 1.2 petrol engines

Here is some information about American law suits against Nissan with regard to CVT box failure. I know you aren't in USA so not exactly applicable but a bit of hunting through these will give you a more condensed source of info about cvt failures/faults and hopefully you'll find some ammo to throw at Nissan. Good luck
