I want to share my experience of updating the device. I am the owner of a Nissan X-trail t32 2014. When I bought the car in 2022, the radio often rebooted spontaneously and fall into update mode. Hardware 031, software D010. I was looking for a solution to the problem on my own, since the official dealer stated that they do not reprogram the unit and it is necessary to replace the device. I've read this forum and followed the instructions for updating, but I encountered one problem: I tried D502, D554, D605 firmwares, memory sticks from different vendors with a capacity of 4, 8, 16, 32 GB, but the result was the same - update error. I decided that in my case there was a hardware failure and I needed to think about replacing the standard head unit.
One day I remembered that the manufacturer of my car dash camera recommended formatting the memory cards with a program SD Card Formatter for the camera to work correctly. I decided to format the 4 Gb memory stick with SD Card Formatter and try the update again. And it was a good decision! The update started and finished successfully.
Three days of work with the D554 firmware was stable, there were no reboots, sometimes navigation was lost (map version is the latest LCN 3 Europe V7 2022) until I selected my region in the settings. The interface languages did not change, I did not notice any changes in regular work.
Since I had problems initializing the update, I followed this process for the entire 55 minutes, and I want to warn you that the process will be delayed for a long time at 1/100, 27/100, 80/100. Do not panic and do not turn off the engine after removing the memory stick: allow the device to reboot itself at the end of a reprogramming and update the navigation maps.
During the update process, the localization is automatically determined (eur in my case), so I don’t think that you will be able to change the operation of the head unit by updating the firmware in a car of a different origin.

Its over 3yrs old and they won't be anymore updates. Have you tried another bluetooth device. Other opton is put all your music on usb stick

I've always thought it strange how my Connect 3 system with the SD card is running with version F216 and not a version starting with D.
Although the Bluetooth is faultless, the DAB drops out on a pretty regular basis.
I once watched a video on YouTube where a chappy said the issue was with the system region being set incorrectly, his was set to Russia I think. He then went to a Main Dealer and had it connected to Consult 3 and had the region changed to the UK and the DAB worked perfectly after that.
Although the Bluetooth is faultless, the DAB drops out on a pretty regular basis.

DAB has always been pretty naff anyway i think reminds me of a mobile phone signal, maybe thats why DAB+ came out later
