Hi all, apologies if I have the wrong forum, have a 2017 Qashqai, recently battery struggling to start on a morning, put it down to cold weather but went to my local garage who did a check of the battery and said it is fine but not running on full charge, but will need replacing within 12 months, probably at next service, March 25, advised battery cost to be around £200 due to needing a special battery for the stop/start, he's not after the business because he told me I could do it myself as I often did in days where one did ones own servicing,
problem will be the need to access the radio serial number to get the code something I couldn't do these days due to age and arthritis,
a friend said that there is a gizmo, (his words), that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket that retains the power to the car while changing the battery and therefor no need to remove the radio,
has anybody heard of this and can advise me please, sorry it's so long winded, all help and advice appreciated

When my battery was replaced by the RAC, guy had to pair it with the ECU. No idea if this is always necessary.

Would you not go for the AGM instead for the same money?

my car battery keeps dieing overnight. I have a new battery on and have had the alternator and starter motor checked and all OK
seems like it might be an electrical fault that's draining the battery over night. any ideas where to start looking please
