reverse camera not working 2008 +2 diesel

Hi, I have a qashqai+2 2008 diesel j10 and my reverse camera isn't working, when I put it in reverse all that comes on the screen is check before reversing and a black screen . I have checked all the connections and they all seem to ok does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong thanks.

maybe the camera has packed up, plenty of used ones on ebay prices start around £45. part number is 28442BR00B check to see if yours looks the same
