So after a motorway run a couple of weeks ago (with a trailer if that makes any difference) I noticed when I put my foot on the brake pedal the ABS and traction control lights came on. Not when I first starte the engine but when I put a reasonable pressure on the pedal. Car seems to be driving/braking ok. No error codes are showing on a scan. Clears when the engine is turned off/on again, push the pedal (even when stationary) and they come back on again. Fluid levels are ok so assuming there are no leaks.

Then today a woman waved my wife down and it turns out we also have no brake lights at all. I'm assuming this is related!

Could this be something as silly as the microswitch on the brake pedal?

No, it's cold outside. But I've never heard of 3x brake bulbs going at once *and* causing the ABS/TC lights to come on.

I suspect your brake light switch is probably gone, I've seen this a few times with Renault capturs, exact same issue. Check bulbs, fuses etc etc but I think you will end up getting where my first suggestion is. If you find the switch is faulty, I bet the issue is resolved when you replace the switch.

Good luck.

Brake lights are LED so switch more likely. Under the pedal, right?

Sorry, I somehow mis read your post and got confused with another post (I think, I thought yours was a 2015 ,doh) I am unsure, I would expect it to be on the back of the pedal(prob towards the top), I've only seen this on 2015+ renaults and even though it's most likely relevant I had based my response on experience with newer renaults, I've not had the pleasure on a qq. I still think it's most likely that , test the switch.

You will see a bracket above the brake pedal, switch on the right is the brake light switch I believe.

You may have to turn it anti clockwise to unlock it from its position.

Switch is a-ok. But I do feel like a proper moron.

What's the first thing we check with electrical problems, people?

So - new 10a fuse and all seems good.
