Update: drop voltage tests have not brought up any wiring issues....at least while the red battery light did not flash whilst the tests were carried out.

The ground cables have been checked for corrosion, terminals checked and copper slip added.

Not sure what else can be checked/tested?? I really hope someone can provide some assistance and if anyone has managed to resolve a similar issue??

Hi, so this issue seems to be resolved now!
There was a broken wire deep in the engine bay causing the intermittent red battery light. Therefore in conclusion if you have a intermittent red battery light where there are no error codes detected then likely you have a broken wire somewhere, rather than faulty battery, alternator or other part which would be detected by error codes.
