Hi why dose my engine rattle when in idle but as soon as I put the clutch down it stops

Hi why dose my engine rattle when in idle but as soon as I put the clutch down it stops. Any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like the clutch release bearing has gone. When you put your clutch down the bearings under pressure and stops making a noise.
