I have a very strange issue related to the compass icon shown on my personal display on the dashboard of my 2022 Qashqai. I am not sure if I am simply misunderstanding this or if there is some configuration problem with the settings.

When I drive north the displays shows "N" and underneath is the compass icon with the red portion pointing to the top, i.e North. When driving South the icon shows the red part pointing down: South. But if I drive either east or west the compass icon seems to point in the opposite direction i.e. east points west and west points east. I attach a couple of photos to demonstrate what I mean.

I really don't know if this has always been the case and I just haven't noticed it, or if it's something new.

Does anyone know if this is expected behaviour, meaning that I have misunderstood how the thing works? Is there some configuration setting somewhere that I can adjust?

Also, in the photos the word "Standard" appears under the compass. I think it is unrelated to the compass but cannot find out what it means. Any ideas?

If it makes any difference this is a left hand drive Portugese version.

nothing wrong with it. red marker is always north,

No idea about that bit have a look through the menu settings they may have diffrent types of compass options

Could Standard be referring to Driving Mode?

Fair enough.
On my car (a CVT) when I use the gearbox control dial and change between the driving modes, the various modes show in that space (i.e. Eco; standard; off-road, etc.)

my 17 plate qashqai has this on the map display, the map road always shows going from bottom to top, if I tap the icon it points north and the map orientation shows left to right if travelling east or west or driving top to bottom if travelling south, to change my preference I just tap the compas icon until it shows what I want
