PS Light car won’t start

We’ve got a 2010 J10 and it’s been absolutely fine, but this morning I fired it up as normal, but then the PS light came on and the car cut out.
Now it’s just turning over and not firing up.

Any idea what might cause that? I’ve seen a few things online that it could be the battery having low power and not enough to kick up the PS pump and the car too….
But. I ain’t a mechanic by any stretch so any help/advice would be appreciated.

PS light whats that then ?? If it was the batt it wouldn't be turning over you got enough fuel in it ?

PS power steering? Check the power steering fluid level, but I can't see why the car wont start though
Past cars Mercedes B Class, S Class, E Class Estate, E Class Coupe, G Wagen, 260E interspersed with Peugeot 406 and Audi Coupe.

It turns over, just doesn’t kick up.

Just had an OBD plug in.

Got the following codes.

P0381

Clear the codes and see if they return as you won't know how long they have been stored in the car for. as most of the errors are fuel related, i would start by fitting a new fuel filter. and add some injector cleaner to a full tank of fuel and go for a long drive ;)

P0488 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control Circuit "A" Range/Performance". P0488 means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a discrepancy between the actual position of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and the desired throttle position.

The P0089 code indicates a possible issue with the fuel pressure in your vehicle. The base of the problem is that the fuel pressure sensor is showing a fuel rail pressure that is distinctly different from the desired fuel pressure.

I can’t get it to start to take it for a long drive unfortunately. Only bought the car a few days ago and broke down within 24hour.

Oh dear. Hope it had warrenty on it when you paid for it
