Squeaky Brakes BRAND NEW CAR

Hello!
Any NEW owners hear their brakes squeaking on random occasions?
I was certain it wasn't mine (as why would they be mine.. They're brand new!

)
Is this normal?

If you are gentle on the brake application , then any brakes can squeal.
Damp weather can also trigger a squeal.

If unsure - return to the dealer

Hi all!
I'm back to this subject.. After having my car since Sept my brakes r still squeaking when I lightly brake from any speed greater than 30mph. Washed them out plenty of times and sprayed brake cleaner.
Has no1 else had problems with new QQ brakes?! Hoping there not cheap parts from long delays with new cars?!

Your problem might be cleaning your brakes the pads have a red grease on the back of the pads to stop them from squealing with alloy wheels been now so open people use power cleaners on them..

Sorry , but you may be using the brakes too gently.
Washing with water wont help the friction material.

Squeeks happen when the surface of the pad glazes over , and is removed with firm brake application

Any resolution to this? I have a brand new j12 and have exactly the same, a scraping noise like there's dust on the brakes when braking.

As with all things new give 'em time to wear in . See if you have the same problem after 500miles

With so much salt, water and crud on the roads you'll often hear your brakes particularly at slow speeds and light braking. Go a bit faster and brake a bit harder to get the crud off.

I have done 4000 miles now and still comes and goes. Dealer wanted £160 fee before seeing car which would be refundable if something under warranty (Standard), but I doubt it would qualify under warranty.
Also couldn't get car booked in for 2 months! Once weather clears up just taking to local garage to get brakes cleaned/greased (£60 quote) and see if that helps. Definitely needing looked at though, squeaking is terrible sometimes. Even my wife noticed it!!

I noticed the discs quite dirty and rusty this morning and had the scraping a little again. I wonder if it's just the quality of the brake discs they use, they maybe just rust quite quickly. I've noticed it in the past with other cars but not usually as quick. I had a Dacia Duster which was bad for noisy brakes and Nissan are Renault/Dacia now aren't they?
