I noticed the discs quite dirty and rusty this morning and had the scraping a little again. I wonder if it's just the quality of the brake discs they use, they maybe just rust quite quickly. I've noticed it in the past with other cars but not usually as quick. I had a Dacia Duster which was bad for noisy brakes and Nissan are Renault/Dacia now aren't they?
To be honest - even BMW will have a light amount of surface rust on them if water is splashed on the discs and left overnight.
I still believe the problem here is driving style.
No amount of cleaning and greasing will solve the issue - apart from some firm braking from time to time
Car went in for its first service - mentioned brakes still squeal. Came back with a note that there is in fact a bulletin for this now but no fix or recall yet. There’s obviously something wrong but Nissan still working to fully understand the issue.
I’ve given up and wont be renewing my lease into another Nissan sadly due to the list of issues i have but might help someone.
3 weeks and a couple of hundred miles in.. and squeaky brakes. Bit disappointing, but then the engine seems to be getting louder with time also. Putting it all down to settling/wearing in but time will have to come to take up with the dealership.
I still get it from time to time but not as much as before.
I suppose its a good thing that others have this problem.. Hopefully Nissan will do something about it and soon. You would think issues with brakes are a serious priority.

Any resolution to this? I have a brand new j12 and have exactly the same, a scraping noise like there's dust on the brakes when braking.
