I now have wireless AA in the car via Carsifi. Took a wee bit of bodging to get working initially but works perfectly now.

Ordered on Thursday came direct from China and was in my house Monday evening. Quite impressed.

Yep 75 quid and works great

Only thing I would like is that AA does not bring up Google maps on boot up, I don't like google maps I find the interface washed out and I prefer the car nav maps. Especially sine it is fully integrated unlike AA. I think that is an AA thing though and nothing to do with adapter. I guess some will like it that way.

I think this dongle might be of interest to “Mission Control” who, unlike me, is an android fan yet she envies the cinectivity I get through wireless CarPlay.

Can I ask what bodges were needed for you to connect and was it a one off bridge or required each time you get in the car ?

Thanks

Seen this in FAQ?

Carsifi set-up is a very easy process. First time when you connect Carsifi to your car you should complete Bluetooth pairing. To do that, please open your Android Device Settings -> Bluetooth and click the "Pair New Device" button. After that, your Android will start searching for new devices and you should select a device named "Carsifi-xxxx" (xxxx is the number of the device which is different on every adapter). In just a few seconds you will be enjoying wireless Android Auto. You only have to set it up once for each device you want to connect to your car. After that, Carsifi will detect your Android smartphone and reconnect it automatically.

It was a simple setting in the app to turn off AA protocol or something like that, once done, works like a charm.

I have since removed the companion app as once it has been setup it is not needed any more.

Hello.

where do you plug the AAwireless dongle, does it go into the armrest compartment.

can you use a USB splitter to use a usb stick with music and use the AAwireless dongle.

Yes, it goes in the usb-a port in the arm rest between front seats. Splitter won't most likely to work, since headunit is already getting data from Android auto. But then I haven't tried it so I'm not 100% sure.

Does this Carsifi model maintain compatibility with Google Assistant? I was very interested in Ottocast's AAW, until a review revealed that Google Assistant and the car's voice commands don't work. This is a HUGE deal-breaker, as a primary advantage of AA is supposed to be touch-free operation!!
