My 1.5 dci has been stuttering and occasionally sounding like an old style diesel. It seems to be intermittent and other times drives fine. My garage had a look an inform there is a fault with the fuel pressure sensor circuit. They tell me according to Nissan the whole fuel rail will need to be replaced to replace the sensor and have quoted me £800. A quick google search shows sensors from about £65. I have questioned the need to replace the fuel rail and they are meant to be checking and will get back to me. Anyone else had a fuel sensor replaced and had to replace the whole fuel rail at the same time?

Welcome to the forum.

Not a problem I have experienced.
My only suggestion would be to ask friends and family and colleagues for recommendations for a reliable local garage and get a quote from them
