Good day soon to be fellow QQ'ians :)

I take charge of my 2016 1.5dci black edition this week and have already found a wealth of knowledge on the forum, Thank you. ;)

I'm fairly mechanical minded and like to try things myself before involving the professionals, but I'm also bright enough to know when I'm a beaten man.

I'm coming from owning a Mazda 3 MPS which was never off the axle stands, so I'm hoping for a much happier, more comfortable, less expensive driving experience.

Have a great day everyone. 8-)

Welcome aboard,
Friendly bunch here on the Forum, always someone available to pass on their knowledge of all things Qashqai.
Hopefully you have many miles of happy fault free ownership to come and not too many issues that need addressing.

Thanks for the warm welcome Squashy, hopefully I don’t alienate those “friendly” members by asking silly questions (don’t worry, I will utilise the search bar :D)

Fingers crossed on the fault free driving my friend, have an excellent day.

Please don't worry about "silly questions"
I have asked a few of those, I'm more than sure that someone will chirp in and answer the most simple of queries.

Precisely how many fully inflated blow up dolls can I fit in a Qashqai?

Asking for a friend :D

What troubles me is that when I do the math, that number seems about right :D

Hi Mike, thanks for taking a second to drop in. No doubt I’ll catch you around the board, especially when your able to offer sage advice about inflatables :D

Rather than starting a new thread, I figured I’d just vent my spleen in my introduction 😂

My 2016 black edition with 58k on the clock which I excitedly collected on Thursday 11th was recovered onto the back of a wagon on Friday 19th and made its way back to the Nissan dealership for diagnostics/repairs.

Red EML illuminating intermittently/hesitation while pulling away/chugging like a tractor
Knock/rattle under load at low RPM’s
Lumpy idle, erratic revs.
Knocking from a faulty steering component

Think that’s it….

Oh hold on, the start stop is continuously disengaged too, although I’m not worried about this one or even know if this is normal operation.

My best friend is a mechanic so he went over the car with a fine tooth comb and gave me a nice little breakdown of its current issues, which I passed straight to dealership.

They called me on Friday to say the were checking the injectors and performing a compression test to which I said thank you but reminded them that it’s not just the block that needs attention. I’ve not heard anything since 🤷‍♂️

Don’t even know if anyones interested but I’ll certainly keep the thread updated just In case it can help someone in the future.

Sounds like you should reject the car before it gets too late

Good afternoon Mike, this is my next port of call.

If I want to reject the car I can, but I’m willing to give them the necessary timeframe required to complete the repairs to a good standard. I did tell my sales rep that the car would be inspected by another mechanic the same day I get it back and the information I receive from him will be the deciding factor to whether I keep it or not.

They effectively have until 25th Aug to make sure the car is fixed, if they can’t honour the repairs before that, it’s getting handed back.

Sad times!
