Hello
Can you please advise how safely can I lock crankshaft to tighten up the pulley?
Engine: 1.5 diesel, bolt 14mm
I think it should be tighten 120 Nm + 95±15°
Kind regards,
Steve
How to tighten up crankshaft pulley?
Generally speaking there would be a tool to lock the flywheel , or some manufacturers use a long spoon type affair that bolts onto the crank and jams up against the chassis.
Have you checked the repair manual ?
I've not checked your engine code - but the method appears to be using a large flat bladed screwdriver in the teeth of the flywheel.
All a but amateur and there is a possibility of damaging the teeth too.

The timing tool that is used to lock the crank when timing it up is used when tightening crank pulley.
120nm torque is easily done with torque wrench but the next 100 degrees is where it gets difficult, easier to mark the head of the bolt then mark the pulley 100 degrees clockwise then using an impact gun tighten it until the lines line up. That's my method many may not agree haha
