Battery charger for J11

Hi

I am considering getting a battery charger to top up the battery from time to time. It's a Nissan KE241-70E01-EF.

Can anyone please help me to know

Can it be charged whilst on the car and if so must the bonnet be up for ventilation ? - I assume it's sealed battery...

If it is better/safer to remove the battery, what is the procedure ?

For this purpose would an automatic low output charger be best ?

I use a CTEK MXS 5.0 and it can charge the battery without it being disconnected and with the bonnet closed. Just connect it up and let it do its thing.

It charges at varying rates for varying periods of time.

I have the Aldi/Lidl clone of the C-Tek though have to admit I've never had to charge a daily driver for many years. Why do you feel the need to?

Never had to charge any of my cars for yrs now and I do lots of short runs the system can charge up these batterys might not do the battery's any good... I find my stop start might not work until it gets a good run I do about. 7000 miles a y ear and used every day.... Motability car so can't touch it .... Find from friends, garages are now charging up when your car gets serviced. Since covid now down to 4000 a year. new car due in march might go back to Q. Q my problem is living so close to the factory everybody has one....

Thanks for the replies. I am doing a lot of short trips, total p/a around 4K miles. The S/S has shown the error twice in the last six months and had difficulty starting, so it has needed a small re-charge to sort it.
