Weird humming noise

We have a Nissan Qashqui Acenta Dig-T Smart Vision Xtronic 2016 (1.2 DIG-T 115 Acenta S) and usually drive just in town. Last weekend we took a 4 hour road trip- fine on the way there, but on the return trip, it started making a very loud humming noise on the motorway. (Sounds like when you take a wet finger and rub it around the edge of a crystal glass- the only way I can describe it.) Sound continues to happen at lower speeds as well, driving in town as well as on the motorway. Taking it to the garage tomorrow. Any suggestions of what they should check out? Thanks
