Hey there,
Looking for a bit of advice.
I'm a new driver with a 2017 Tekna 1.2 DIG T.
Problem is when I am reversing (on flat) I start to roll forward even though my auto assist is on, I thought this feature was supposed to avoid this happening. I therefore always have to pop the electronic parking brake on to avoid this but then have to give it some revs to enable it to move backwards...Could be I am doing something wrong with it being my first car and completely different to what I learnt in.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Rolling forward when reversing

Welcome to the forum.
I imagine that it will be difficult to advise you on this without sitting in the car and watching you manoeuvre.
You say that you are a new driver, were you on good terms with your driving instructor ?
Perhaps he or she will be able to sit with you and lend some assistance ?

Welcome to this forum.
I don't understand the problem.
I can't even work out whether you're driving a manual or an automatic. I presume a manual but if the ground is flat as you suggest the car shouldn't "roll" in any case.
If it isn't quite flat and you're actually on a gentle slope, note that the brake assist might not operate unless it's a significant slope.

I previously had a J11a which only had "hill start assist". It only engaged when the car detected that the hill/incline was above a certain angle - on the flat it never engaged (and wasn't designed to).
I now have a J11b which has "auto-hold". When enabled this engages regardless of the incline, i.e. even when stationary and on level ground.
Both of these cars are manual transmission and so an auto may operate differently.
I hope this helps explain things

Thanks for that explanation of the difference. The enquirer's car could be either being a 2017.

Apologies for not explaining correctly, this is all new to me. I have a manual with an electronic parking brake and an auto assist not an auto hold. As I was taught in a car with auto hold (which held fast all the time) I think I have maybe been making the assumption assist and hold are the same. Appears not the case...... Thanks for clarifying Icesteelman much appreciated

Hill Start Assist works on maintaining brake fluid pressure for about 2 secs while the driver does a swift gear select, brakes, clutch and throttle fandango to move off. It is operational on inclines and declines over 5degs. So if your fandango is slower than 2secs you will roll I suspect...as days of old.

Think my fandango has still to pick up speed...will get there though. Only been passed a week and it's taken me 40 years to pluck up the courage to learn..every days a school day. Ta for all the pointers
