Hi all, I'm having problems with my air con. Following a recent regas, the compressor kicks in, the pipes are cold, and it drops the temp to around 18-19 degrees in the cabin, but no lower. Our friendly mechanic has checked the following:

  • Temperature control valve gear
  • Internal temp sensor
  • Condensor
  • Compressor
  • Receiver Dryer
  • Pressure tested and no leaks found
But still no joy. Is there anything obvious to check next?

Welcome to the forum.

If I remember correctly the air coming out of the vents should be approximately 4 degrees C.
If your friendly local mechanic is stuck maybe Ask family, friends, and neighbours for recommendations for an air con specialist.

Good Luck

There are specific gas pressures to be obtained on both the low and high pressure sides. If not correct then its unlikely the system will be inefficient ...or not cooling correctly. Gas gauges are required.
