Hi all,
I’ve found a few topics surrounding this but not actually managed to find a solution
I have Qashqai J10 2013 360.
For some reason the past week all of a sudden when I put the car into reverse the rear camera and around view monitor does not appear on the radio screen - it simply stays on whatever was there before
This in intermittent. When I press the “camera” button all the cameras show up fine including the rear camera
I’ve accessed the “secret” settings menu on the CONNECT radio and there is a “directional” indicator that switches to “reverse” when I put it in R and the camera works, but remains in “forward” when the action doesn’t work
I’m assuming this is a switch of some sort which is faulty and needs replacing - where do I find this switch and is it easy enough to test / replace?
Any help would be appreciated
Many thanks

I’ve managed to sort this.
It was the reverse sensor switch. It is located in the gearbox just below the battery with a green clip on it
You need to disconnect the clip by pushing down on the top of it to release the plastic
I then placed the new switch into the clip, and pushed down on the small metal pin at the end to see if this activated the lights and camera, which it did
You then need to remove the old switch from the gearbox - use a 24mm socket and a few turns should loosen it and then unscrew by hand
If can be fiddly to get a socket on it but perseverance is needed
Then screw the new clip in and tighten again with the socket, and it’s now working like new.

Hi mate, great post, love the pics. My problem is releasing the clip from the top pf the sensor, is there a knack to it, my sensor is in the gearbox 180 degrees to yours and I cant get my finger on the catch as sits up against a steel ridge on the gearbox.

try using a flat blade screwdriver to prize it off Some other connectors on the engine require you to do this.
