Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

Post by Roade21 »

Hi

Considering new Qashqai but found out today boot capacity varies. Looked at N-connecta with removable boot floor panels. Does anyone know if the quoted litres is upwards from removable floor panel or includes the lower section ‘under’ the removable panels as well?

J12 - I have found the there’s just enough room for 3 people and one medium suitcase each.
Went to Bishop Auckland for a family wedding at the weekend and had to squash bags and suit carriers in to get the boot closed. Note, neither of my J11s were any better.

Forget the number of litres quoted, it’s smaller than it looks

Welcome to this forum - a slightly rambling response I'm afraid.

Here are the quoted capacities in litres:

Visia- 504
Acenta Premium- 504
N-Connecta- 479
Tekna- 475
Tekna+- 436

Neither the Visia nor the Acenta Premium trim level includes the removable floor - that becomes standard on the N-Connecta upwards.

Hence can we assume that the 25 litre difference between the lower and upper trims is a result of this difference? The base floor level is the same for all except the Tekna+? And if this isn't the case where would the additional 25 litres be coming from?

However why is the Tekna slightly smaller? The only difference I know is that there's a Bose speaker in the spare wheel well which might alter the base floor level slightly - but if the space under the luggage boards is not included in the calculation this would be irrelevant.

The Tekna+ has a different bodyshell to accommodate the independent rear suspension so that presumably results in a higher base floor level? But again if the space under the luggage boards is not included in the calculation this would be irrelevant.

I agree it's not that obvious as to what dimensions are actually being taken in this area and really a direct visual comparison might be needed to reveal the difference.

All versions of the J11 and the J11B appear to be quoting 430 litres

I’m currently on 436 litres, so I wasn’t imagining it when I thought there wasn’t any difference.

Thanks - that helps but probably puts me off! Have a Tiguan currently so think I’ll be stepping down in litres

One of my best mates has a Tiguan, a QQ would be a step down in size.
A Tiguan is probably where I’m going next but a hybrid.
I can do lots of local stuff purely on the battery/electric motor.

The Toyota Corolla Touring is my likely next purchase now QQ is discounted. 580 litres in a flat boot plus 60-70 mpg if driven moderately

I think by saying "discounted" he's not meaning it's been discontinued but rather it's now off his shopping list owing to the boot size. "Discounted" as an new car option.
