You have to push all the time "breake" pedal for Start/Stop works as "off", if you replace you foot from pedal - engine will start

Thank you for the previous answer but it appears not to be the case. For clarity are people doing exactly what the manual says:

The Stop/Start System is designed to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, and noise during a journey:

To activate the Stop/Start system:

• On manual transmission models, bring the vehicle to a complete stop, remain at idle in N (Neutral) and release the clutch pedal.

• On Xtronic transmission models, bring the vehicle to a complete stop, and either depress the brake pedal or shift into N (Neutral) or P (Park).

If you have Automatic brake hold turned ON, you can remove your foot from the brake pedal once the Automatic brake hold indicator light (green) illuminates, and the engine will not restart automatically.
To restart the engine when the Stop/Start system is active:

• On manual transmission models, the engine will restart as soon as you depress the clutch pedal to shift into a (forward or reverse) gear.

• On Xtronic transmission models:

– If the Automatic brake hold indicator light (green) is illuminated, shift into D (Drive) or R (Reverse), or press the accelerator to restart the engine.

– If Automatic brake hold is turned off or not fitted, or the indicator is not illuminated, the engine will restart when you take your foot off the brake pedal.

The Stop/Start System has stopped the engine and will automatically restart the engine. The Stop/Start indicator light is lit.

I've just read the handbook through a little more. I challenge anyone to remember all this! Far too complicated!

Just had a new software update on mine but same issue before and after. Brake, car stops, stop start activated but then starts the car again straight away?

Software update for exactly what? Did Nissan do it and explain?

I had a battery fault error whilst driving then a stop start error screen. This went later in the day by itself.
I took it in and they said there was an error code indication no seat belt worn for up to 10mph multiple times—no idea as I always wear it.
Said all seemed ok and they put a latest update on, don’t know what, but since whenever I stop the engine cuts then fires up straight away again.

Unfortunately there are a large number of conditions that need to be satisfied for the Start/Stop system to work reliably. Its impossible to speculate from diagrams which are about 5 years out of date in relation to your vehicle.

The seat belt buckle is monitored to detect "driver sitting on driver seat"...thats for a J11a car. It also figures in the Stop/Start set of operating conditions.

Its possible that amongst the many functions monitored the ECU receives a signal indicating for instance the "car is moving" or the "air conditioning is ON". Thats just at the point of engine STOP. Possibly causing the engine to suddenly RESTART.

Your seller needs to thoroughly check such conditions.

Yes, it’ll be going back again in the next week or 2. Only 6 months old, 3k miles.

So now I’ve worked it out a little. Drop wife off 5 min away she sits in the back cos daughter in front. I’m back she doesn’t always put a belt on so it beeps and then stops beeping just before we stop. Obv this is being recorded. Is this why stop start isn’t working? Will it clear itself after a while of her wearing a seat belt then be ok?
