A Qashqai needs an ANNUAL service not just an oil and filter change. You should have paid the extra - and £106 if it was for the proper full Nissan annual service is VERY cheap!
£106 at a main dealer for service is a bargain, should have bite their hand off. :P

My main dealer is quoting £229 for an 'Interim' service.
The car has done 3800 in 12 months.
Do I have to have it done by them? Will it invalidate any warranties etc if I go to the local garage who are quoting £84?
TIA

Welcome to this forum.

£229 is the current standard Nissan nationwide charge for a minor service. £329 for a major. Nissan servicing is comparatively cheap compared to some other manufacturers.

It is strongly advised to have all servicing - at least within the warranty period but potentially afterwards too - done at a Nissan dealer in case of any problems in the future.

If you can afford a brand new car why skimp on the servicing?

Sounds expensive - have you quoted Nissan standard servicing rates to them? https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/niss ... -care.html

MoT is £54.85 max, which I paid last year. This year I took it to ProTyre who did it for a very reasonable £22.50.

Better still book a service plan and get afternoon tea!

Alternatively there's now "Good to Go" I see covering servicing, warranty, MoT and RAC:

Now you may think that a bit pricey but after the 3 year warranty runs out an extended warranty will cost you several hundred a year and then these prices look very attractive in that context.

Here's what I was quoted before I gave up on Nissan owing to its useless dealer mainly:

For my 1.2DigT Tekna on 19,500 miles the quote was starting 29/06/2018:

One year/80,000 - £377
Two years/100,000 - £747 (that's an extra £370)
Three years/125,000 - £1207 (that's an extra £460)

As you can see the "Good to Go" cost of £480pa for servicing, warranty, MoT and RAC is VERY cheap!
