I think you're really going to struggle to get anything other than a budget tyre with your budget. Unless you get some second-hand ones of ebay or similar.

I can't find any reviews that could give a steer on which cheap tyres are better than others. Perhaps go in to a local independent tyre shop and ask. Or got to a local scrappy and see if there's a QQ there with better tyres?

The QQ is often an SUV type tyre which increases cost over standard car tyres.

If you do lots of miles I would try to find a way to increase the budget rather than fit budget tyres

What about the Accelera Iota tyres. They seem to be decent for £60 per tyre.

Other than that heard people talk about Hi fly Vigorous.

What would you then suggest to recommend?

As above I can't recommend either, both or neither as I've no experience of these budget brands. I'd recommend going and speaking to your local independent tyre fitting company for advice before buying.

Just remember you'll be paying a lot more if you buy sh*t tyres and then have an accident.

when I lived in Australia in the early 70's, garages used to sell remoulded tyres, never heard of them in this country

Remoulds were fairly common in the UK when I first started driving nearly 50 years ago.

Beat me to it, I put remoulds on my 1963 Beetle when I bought it in 1973, all I could afford in my budget. The £30 I paid for the car, seems like a bargain now - I just wish I still had it !!
