Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

Post by sw20 »

Hi all,

Currently in the market for a new car, in my price range is the 2014/15 1.5 dCi with anywhere from 70 to 100k on the clock. Is there anything to be aware of when going to look at one, is the mileage an issue? Have read a lot of stuff about realiability issues but then again you always read the ad stuff!

Any common issues of faults I should be aware of? Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Welcome to this forum

The main issues with the J11 involve the 1.2 petrol engine and the CVT auto. The 1.5 diesel seems to be pretty reliable - but note it's the only engine with a cambelt rather than a chain and hence needs replacing every 5 years (or around 72k miles) - so you'd need to check that a 2014/2015 car had had that done.

If you like gadgets then go for a Tekna - I had been looking at a pre-reg n-tec but the dealer provided an eight-month old Tekna for the test drive and I decided the added extras were well worth it! Particularly the leather seats.

Nissan change their trim levels frequently, so the period you're looking at will have differing availability depending on the exact age of the car - albeit the Visia, Acenta, and Tekna trims went throughout that period.

I've a collection of brochures - I've attached one.
