Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Post by Lotuselam »

Hi recently joined after purchasing my Nissan Qashqai 2018 Tekna 1.3 160 DIG-T-S-A in August 2021. I took the car for its 3rd sevice in Jan 2022 which went well but was told i had a problem with my front n/s and o/r steering links and the main problem was an oil leak from engine side chest leaks req reseal rocker gasket and main seal at a cost of £1028.88 plus vat. My question is that should a 3 year old car that has covered only 11, 000+ miles find itself with an oil leak which is going to cost silly money.
Thank you all in advance!

That is shocking. I have a 2009 Focus from new, done 66k miles and never had any leak until last year, where the is now gearbox driveshaft oil seal is slightly wet. I would say it may not have been tightened properly from new. I guess after 4 years it is out of warranty.

Welcome to this forum.

I would only consider a Qashqai with an extended warranty. When I had trouble with getting an extended warranty on mine I decided to trade it in for a non-Nissan. There are just too many problems being reported here to make it a valid secondhand car choice.

Hi, my sentiments exactly, the car came with a years Marshall warranty which i now find out will cover the steering fault but not the oil leak. Have spent the last couple of months going back and forth with the dealer but they are adamant that they will not budge. one more try with the finance company, if not will have to take it to my usual mechanic to get a better price. Funny enough not loosing oil on dipstick but the Nissan dealer who did the service
tells me that it is definately a leak!!
Happy Days, maybe should have kept my 5 series GT???

Hi, long time no posting, I have finally after going back and forth to the seller and Nissan customer service and recently to Glyn Hopkin of Waltham Cross I have found an extremely helpful service agent from GH who have taken ownership of my problem and yesterday 27/6/22 I picked up my car with all the work done to my satisfaction and at no cost to me. I can only thank my hero Ted from GH whom without his perseverance I would be over £1000 plus vat light.
Highly Recommend GLYN HOPKIN service department!!!!!!!
