Hi everyone,

First time poster so bear with me.

Currently having a two-fold problem with fused reverse AND hazard lights at rear of car. Car running perfectly fine otherwise but noticed this morning that both the hazard bulbs and reverse lights on the rear were on. Car was obviously off with no keys in ignition.

Tried checking and replacing new fuses but no effect so currently had to unplug bulbs for now. Should also note tried removing fuse and made no difference.

Has anyone encountered this before? What was the solution?

Many thanks in advance.

The hazard lights are the indicator lights. Is the manual hazard warning switch working at all? These lights are controlled by the Body Control Module...BCM

Reverse lights (Back-up) is via the gear lever switch and is a direct 12v line to IPDM. BCM is not involved for this function.

Hi everyone, I have a 2009 1.6 petrol NTec and am having this bizarre situation where the rear left hand indicator bulb stops flashing after a few minutes of drive.

Some point last week, upon signalling left the clicking sound became fast and I thought the bulb had gone bad and got a new one from B&q and replaced the old. The new one worked alright for the first 15mins or so during the drive but then suddenly the clicking sound became fast again and turned out the rear indicator wasn't flashing again..

I read somewhere it could be corrosion etc so I opened up the rear light panel again, removed the new bulb and didn't see any rust or corrosion but still got a sandpaper and gave both the socket and bulb a bit of clean. Once put back on, the indicator started working as normal but then crashed again after 15mins or so during the drive.

Would be really grateful if someone could advise and suggest a solution please?

Many thanks

Welcome to this forum.

Check for corrosion where the wiring loom plugs into the light assembly and check the light assembly is earthing properly.

Many thanks Gloucester for your message🙂
I'll take a look again for any corrosion in the plugs but I'm not sure how to check the earthing..would I have to remove all the door panels to follow the wiring for this?

Cheers

I'm not definite but the earthing is potentially directly to the body from the light? Can anyone advise?
