Hello all,
Unfortunately the gearbox became dysfunctional.
This is after ~109000 KM's and the car was serviced every 20000 KM.
My question is:
How does the gearbox maintenance need to be done? Should the service centre had to change the gear oil after a specific milage? What other situations could have caused this?
Thank you.

More information is required - what is the specification of the car? In particular are we talking manual or automatic here?

This is a 2017 J11 1200 Turbo model Automatic.
I'll just add that after speaking with a few mechanics I did not get a categorical answer as to if there is a requirement by the brand maker to change gear oil in the Qashqai. I was just told it so happens that the mechanism can break unexpectedly with no connection with servicing...

I have my auto gearbox oil changed every 40000 miles (approx 65000 km) so IMO I think you are well past an oil change to the gearbox. I believe Nissan recommend every 50000 miles ( approx 81000km)
