Removed old boot some can be seen here at viewtopic.php?t=8636 the downside to the boot I got is that it did not have the cut out for the reverse camera.

Camera from inside of boot.

Car with boot removed

DSCF3200.JPG

Template was drawn on replacement boot to do the drilling and cutting to make it in exact position as old one.

DSCF3201.JPG

Making sure to file down after especially swarf. I then sprayed isopon etch primer on the edges of bare metal.

DSCF3202.JPG

The rear 3rd brake light is difficult to remove, I had damaged my original one. On the other boot had to remove the next one to connect screenwash hose and wiring loom. Use two credit cards or store cards at the top. Then underneath from inside use two flat blade screw drivers. This is the only way to risk not breaking it.

The common fault of poor designed boot handle was replaced.
I bought from XR8 Ltd who retail on ebay, there kit is one of the best out there, comes with instructions etc. Which you can see on their website https://x8r.co.uk/nissan-boot-repair.html

I cut off the remaining non broken pegs, ground it down and then roughed up the area the new clips would go with sandpaper.

DSCF3205.JPG

I put the acetone included onto the part then used clamps to hold it firmly in place, on the other side is an old microfibre to prevent scratching.

DSCF3206.JPG

Once complete I sanded up and keyed the other side for repainting had a bit of scratches originally when I got the car, and also was made worse by previous owner by using a screw into the handle going into the bodywork to hold the handle in place due to broken clips.

The black part on the rear bumper was terrible and shelling off on the offside to white underneath. It looks as though it was painted with some kind of crap paint as it is different to the front.
Image

So keyed it up with red scotch pad, then grey scotch pad. Removed rear fog light and masked and taped it up. Then wiped it down with thinners.

Offside part of bumper that shelling off, it was flattened to one level

First coat sprayed. Use Hlafords plastic black bumper paint https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paint ... QYQAvD_BwE

Final coat sprayed

Finished job, looks much better

My spiral cable squib for airbag was no good when I bought the car. If I reset it, soon as I drove, it would set the airbag light flashing.
Toughest part is putting flat screwdrivers behind the airbag unit to release the tabs to push it forward. I recommend using a torch just to see what you are doing. Also remember to disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes.
I bought this item cost £13 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403239130832

Steering wheel removed and other parts. I put a green paint pen line on steering column to match with that on the steering wheel.

Refitting stalks to new item

DSCF3751.JPG

refitting back to steering column. Do NOT rotate the inner ring or damage could be done to the unit.

DSCF3752.JPG

Cowling put back in place

DSCF3753.JPG

I painted the triangles that must be lined up in green pen prior, if these are not lined up, you would get the fault light for airbag going off as it would not be able to tell the central position.

DSCF3755.JPG

Steering wheel on, make due cables are routed properly before putting airbag assembly back on.

Doors wing and bumper removed for repaint. The connector loom can stay within the door pillar, ignore Hanyes manual as it is even harder and time consuming to take this out.

DSCF3761.JPG

DSCF3763.JPG

DSCF3764.JPG

Also fitted reverse parking sensors, to be in bonus to the reverse cam I already have. I put them in the same position as the factory items. I would have got OEM genuine Nissan ones, as pre-wiring is there, problem is the price is extortionate used from breakers and new from Nissan is rip-off. Much cheaper to buy a kit on ebay. for £8-15

Everything marked up using masking tape.

DSCF3778.JPG

Holes drilled using supplied tool.

DSCF3779.JPG

Sensors put in, I sprayed them with the bumper spray to match the exact colour.

DSCF3781.JPG

Feed for the reverse sensors trigger at this wire on nearside inner wing, peel back boot carpet and loom. The oem one plugs into this connector, I had soldered mine onto this where you see I peeled back some of the cable.

DSCF3788.JPG

Earthed at rear nearside wall with other main earth loom

felt the car needed a little bling up front, nothing excessive. So got these foglamp bezel rings on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303109777518 for £10.25

Without the rings

DSCF3786.JPG

With the rings, they came with self adhesive 3M pads. I cleaned the area first with panel wipe to get good adhesion.

DSCF3787.JPG

Also while I was at it. I added some mudflaps, replica, the exact shape as the OEM from the factory. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174979977004 £9 for front and rear

Added Nismo decals to the rear ones.

painted dots on place to drill using flaps as a template
