Checking the charge has been mentioned before in a slightly different context. However and depending on the Head unit (Nav/Audio) you can observe the Batt & Charge status in a Service Menu...hidden. Access is by method below: (see about 8mins in for the power check)

Thats correct, however if you have a bad earth you dont see the voltage output from the alternator. Only the battery voltage.

Yep...the dim wits of the car industry removed any "easy" indication of charging as in days of old. The red ignition light extinguishing on start up. So now we have some half arsed digital experience which is useless to most owners.

My Nissan Qashqai 2014, won't start at -5 degrees Celsius this evening.
But have always struggled to start at very cold temperature, cold start below -2. And then start displaying
STOP/start auto Fault.

Anyone had this issue before?
How was it resolved?

can be many things, but 1st to get checked will be the state of the batt, if original will be time to fit a new one as 10yr old car. if you have had it replaced in last few years then maybe look a glow-plugs next
