Well.... I have had the Qashqai now since just before Xmas and around 50 % of the time I get the error below when using Pro-Pilot it seems to be worse after a lot of rain but can happen at anytime. If Pro-Pilot is not used the car works as expected in all other areas, it's just Pro-Pilot that has the issue.

It's going in on Monday 31st for an investigation to try to find out why it's happening.
I will let you know what they find in due course.

For anyone waiting for these cars, I love this car, it really is brilliant to drive, and I would have no issues recommending it to anyone.

It could at least - if it had decency - tell you the page number to look at!

I had this error message a couple of times late last year but nothing when I first collected my car in October. It seemed to start in November and a few times in December. Nothing at all this year. I came to the conclusion it was just the low lying autumn sun as that has been known to cause error messages and faults in the Mark 2 Qashqai’s.

The owner’s manual for the Mark 3/J12 seems to suggest keeping the windscreen clear (there are two cameras near the rear-view mirror?).

Having searched the owner’s manual for a definitive answer, the only thing I can find is the error shown in picture 4 out of the several dozen error message options (over 2 pages). This could indicate a temporary or constant fault, as per the list below.

Several other people have reported the same problem on a J12 Facebook Group. One person has taken their Qashqai back to the dealership who found no fault, another has been told the whole steering wheel needs replacing (drastic measures?) and someone else has had a whole raft of additional lights and error messages relating to front and rear collision detection being disabled, etc. :(

The only thing different I have done is make sure the windscreen is clean/clear and also to keep the rear camera (above the rear number plate) clean as I seem to remember that caused problems with the Blind Spot Warning system on the Mark 2 Qashqai’s?

I have had problems with lane assist in Kodiaq and Mazda caused by dirty windscreen at the top ( where the cameras are for lane assist). Could be as simple as the windscreen needs cleaning.

Also don’t forget the badge on the front grill of the j12 is a sensor that might also need a wash with clean water. Hope I’m not talking a load of rubbish!

Yeah I did all the checks and cleaned all the camera lenses and also the front badge and window, but it still gets the fault. Also cleaned the car and that made it a lot worse. It maybe the weather as since it's been colder it has got a lot worse.

I do know for a fact that icy / moist is a danger to (some/all car-) sensors.
If one or more (!) of the *many J12* sensors are inactivated I guess your guess is as good as mine as to what might happen or be reported by the car.
I know my son's car (not a Nissan though) became a (dashboard) x-mas tree when he was driving through snow.
Pretty afraid that once I will meet snowy conditions in my QQ Teknka+ ...
Probably (a.o.) ilkka -living up North- may already offer us a bit of positive-or-negative (?) advice/experience with his QQ J12 ?
