Hello everyone,
I have a 67 reg Nissan Qashqai Tekna but have an issue with the door locking system.
It has stop/start button and keyfob. Problem is that when I exit the vehicle and go to lock it with the fob, it doesn’t lock. Just gives off the continuous warning beep. Have to pull the fob apart and lock it manually for all the doors to lock.
Also when in the vehicle, driving and all doors closed, it shows the passenger door open on the dash? Pic attached.
Is this quite common on f/l Qashqai’s?
Anyone had similar or can advise what needs to be done to sort it?
Cheers

Welcome to this forum
Clearly there's a fault with the passenger door sensor. Does it actually lock when you manage to lock the other doors?
The beep will be because it thinks the door's open.
I think someone mentioned a similar situation recently - try a search.

Hello gloucester and thank you for the welcome.
None of the doors lock when using the keyfob lock button. When manaully locking it from the drivers side, all doors lock. Have tried the spare key, still the same. Batteries have been changed on them too.
I did do a search, many posts say that the lock mechanism needs to be changed on pre facelift cars.
Curious to know if there are any reset methods or fixes I could do before visiting a dealer. Or if a facelift owner has had the same issue.
Edit - the sensor’s a good shout so will look into that.
Thank you

If it locks then it must be a sensor fault. I don't know anything about those.

Its a door sensor fault. The sensor informs the car Body Control Module (BCM) which door is open. That shows on the Binnacle and will prevent the FOB locking the doors. Manual override exists by the driver door key.
Diagnostics indicates its either a full door lock unit change or worse the BCM. Needs a dealer I'd say.

Thanks calnorth, not the news I wanted to hear but heyho, need to get it sorted one way or the other. I know the BCM is not cheap! Will get booked in soon and report back. Probably update this thread in 1-2 months. Thank you.
