Hi, what was the fix? We've just reserved a 2018 1.2 DIG-T with less than 20k on the clock and it has the same noise, although it doesn't happen for as long.

Would like to know if it's anything serious before buying it.

I recently got a Qashqai Tekna 2017 1.2 Turbo Petrol and I don't get this noise but a slight hissing sound when pressing the accelator pedal...local Nissan dealer advised no fault could be found so assume is normal but yours appears to be different sound to what I am getting maybe worth checking with a Nissan dealer but they likely charge you a diagnostic fee for checking the issue.

As the situation is presently I wouldn't recommended a 1.2 owing to the serious problems this model's engine has experienced.

Hi I looked at a 2017 qashqai today with the 1.2 engine and it had this same noise which was very irritating.. What was the fix in your case? I want it rectifying before potentially buying.. Thanks!!

Welcome to this forum.

Assuming the noise is the precursor of the 1.2 engine problem, the only solution appears to be a new engine. I can't recall anyone getting a guaranteed "it won't happen again" fix.
