I know it sounds crazy, but worth a try. Has anyone fitted a USB port to the factory head unit, so that you can play music.
Is the bluetooth system that allows you to connect your phone for the calls; cant that be used to play music via the headunit.
J10 satnav headunit, is it possible to add USB

Just was looking at brochures and see from November 2008 that there was a audio jack socket in the armrest console for MP3 aux. How irritating as mine is an early 2008. Has anyone retrofit this?

you may have the wires/connector allready there just have to remove the armrest and have a look
this is the port you need i think

I would give it a try to look to see if the wiring is there. Although I guess I would have to change the headunit as the button has CD, I have checked some of the same thing from later models but which has the button as CD/AUX. It would be good if the wire is there. I would possibly have a check tommorow.andy2019 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:22 pm you may have the wires/connector allready there just have to remove the armrest and have a look

I have checked over the wiring in the armrest and there is no additional wire. I have realised my headunit has the standard [CD] button, not like the newer ones from late 2008 with the [CD/AUX] button. I guess they did not pre-wire it as mentioned above, what a shame though.
I have noticed another wire like what another poster had put, but this has 3 pin. the wires to this connector is red, black, red/silver dashes. Not sure if that was meant to be for a rear cigar lighter, I would check it tomorrow for voltage status, was getting late and cold.
I pulled out the cupholder part and the back wall from armrest from rear passenger footwell.
