So are we REALLY saying that Nissan themselves are marketing a dashcam which doesn't fit ?!?!?

Is that why it says "Currently unavailable"?

Nowhere in the fitting instructions or user guide does it say it’s for the J12, I have not seen an actual photo of it installed in a J12 so draw your own conclusions!!!

I was offered this one with my local dealer for £239 but wouldn't sell it to me long story .https://www.yeomans.co.uk/nissan/servic ... cam-offer/ maybe check if any dealer has it on clearance.

I hope to take delivery of my J12 in March. Can anybody recommend a dashcam, either front or front rear to get fitted and what would a reasonable cost with installation be. Thanks. Steve

Have you had one before?

I have a reasonable spec Nextbase 312GW - cost about £90 - which has now been superseded by the 322GW (RRP £109). Works fine and has great PC software with video publishing facilities.

HOWEVER...

If I was installing a new one I'd up the spec further. The 312GW is FullHD but you really need a higher resolution than that to read numberplates given the 140deg viewing angle. And I'd have a rear cam as well.

So on my shortlist I have a 522GW which is crucially both 1440p HD and can have a rear camera added. Its RRP is £139 at present (https://www.nextbase.com/en-gb/dash-cam ... -dash-cam/) excl. the rear cam (£59).

If cost isn't an issue I'd look at the 622GW too - https://www.nextbase.com/en-gb/dash-cam ... -dash-cam/ - for even higher resolution (4k).

Sample output from the 312GW can be supplied on request by PM. They're on my YouTube channel.

My dashcam is from Blackvue. Model is DR900X-2CH Plus. It has both front and back cameras. It's pricier camera, but has been working well so far.

Has anybody done a detailed review on fitting a rear dash cam to j12 or j11 yet?
