Hi guys, my 17 plate Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi Tenka 5 door hatchback, has developed a slow puncture, going to a local tyre fitter tomorrow, dealers bit too far to risk driving, what do I need to tell local tyre fitter regarding the valve when they take the tyre off, previous car, a Ford, they just threw the old valve away and fitted a new one each time they replaced/repaired a tyre? especially as the valve is an integral part of the system for monitoring the tyres, I should assume they know what they are doing but I want to be safe, all help and advice appreciated

Make clear you have TPMS valves, which they'd readily see, and ensure they reuse it.

I had two new tyres on Monday.
Bought via Black Circles and fitted by a local garage.
TPMS still working as before - they clearly knew and had a procedure

I think most tyre depots nowadays should know about TPMS valves since surely as much as 50% of the cars they deal with have these now don't they? They've been mandatory since 2014.

Note a slow puncture can be something other than a puncture - it might be a valve issue or even, as I had with my second Fabia - a porous alloy. They painted the inside of it to ameliorate but it wasn't 100% successful.
