From a 6 mile drive, mostly 50 mph with ECO setting on and slightly warmer outside at 11°C.
47.7 mpg.
Fuel consumption pretty similar to my 1.2 petrol Qashqai’s I had before.
Hoping to see a slight improvement in the summer!

Do you know if these results from them running deliberate fuel economy runs rather than a total over the length of the long term test period?gloucester wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 1:15 pm Autocar last week had the Final Report for their long-term J12 158 Tekna:

That 'test worse' result seems very high.

That's just what they show in the article based on day-to-day running.
"Test worst" could have been a large number of short runs.

The figures coming in now are WAY higher than I expected. I know the warmers weather helps but I think it does show that economy improves as the mileage increases.... Which I thought was a myth.

Yes, the fuel economy should adjust to your particular driving style over time (also weather dependent) with a gradual improvement in mpg.

RUNNING-IN PERIOD
Taken from the Nissan Qashqai handbook for the J12/Mark 3 (page 217 at the time of posting):
During the first 1,600 km (1,000 miles), follow these recommendations for the future reliability and economy of your new vehicle. Failure to follow the recommendations may result in shortened engine life and reduced engine performance.
• Avoid driving for long periods at a constant speed, either fast or slow.
• Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear.
• Avoid quick starts.
• Avoid hard braking as much as possible.
• Do not tow a trailer during the first 800 km (500 miles).

This is wonderfully vague, so I guess no cruise controll for the first 1000 miles? and if motorway driving you need to slow down and speed up routinely?• Avoid driving for long periods at a constant speed, either fast or slow.

Yes, it's has been a long time since I've run an engine in but that's exactly what I have done in the past.
I used to increase the amount of throttle and the amount of revs every 100 miles as well.
There is a lot of different running in theory's out there

Interested in the difference E5/E10 fuel is making, whilst I have a diesel QQ that never returns less than 50 mpg and often low 60s, my MX5 NC has dropped about 5 mpg with the new fuel and similar driving.
