Battery Replaced after 6 weeks

Hi,

Joined to post this. Got my new Qashqai Tekna Xtronic about 6 weeks ago. Only done 600 miles, but I really like it.

Went out in it on Wed and a couple of hours later someone told me I'd left the lights on. Odd as they're automatic. Went to the car and everything was dead - I could unlock it by pressing the remote button, but not the keyless door handle button.

Pressing the start button did nothing and couldn't turn the lights off. RAC were very busy so asked if they could come Thursday morning as I was at home.

When they came they jump started it and the alarm started going off along with "Battery Management Fault See Dealer" and "System Fault" warnings. They said their test said the battery needed replacing. They disconnected and re-connected the battery which stopped the alarm and stopped the warnings.

I drove it to the dealer and left it with them. They've had a look today and replaced the battery.

We've had 3 previous Qashqais and all have had the battery replaced under Warranty. I wasn't expecting it with the new one and definitely not this soon.

Hopefully a one off dodgy battery

My neighbor had a j12 and same thing happened to him after 3 weeks owning the car. I have asked them already before I pick up car to check voltage in battery.

That's interesting - they told me I was the first one. I felt special until reading this.

When I went to collect it they asked me to answer a load of questions about the state before powering off, how I locked it, whether I'd used the Connect app in between and the state when I went back to it.

Interesting as I’ve just got in mine and it’s done the same thing.

Mines a manual though.

I don’t really have time to be taking it to a dealer as it’s 30 miles from me as well and I rely on the car for work.

Disappointing really having only had it 2 weeks today!

Isn't RAC Recovery/Support available for you to call? If its the Battery they can change it

Yeah, they just said it would be pointless them coming out and advised to just drive it to the dealer rather than ringing them so they don’t try and fob me off 😂

I’ve just started it again and the lights have gone off. I’m on a long drive tomorrow so hopefully if it is the battery, it may sort itself out. If it re appears I’ll take it in
