Sooo, anyone using auto main beam?
On my j11 it was spot on, visibly noticeable when it rose and dipped and did do at the right time. On my j12 it goes on (although only marginally brighter than dip?) but stays on most of the time!
Eg often behind traffic it might dip then other times stay on, same with approaching traffic..

Does your car have just the auto high beam, or does it have the adaptive driving beam? If you're using the adaptive driving beam, then they will stay lit if it's dark enough. Rather than dip when the car sees other traffic, the system turns on and off the individual LEDs which make up the main beam to cast a shadowed area on the other cars but keep the main beams on the road. To be honest, I find these systems hit and miss anyway. I have it on my current car (Ford Focus ST) and regularly get flashed by oncoming traffic when my high beams are on, even though it's supposed to prevent this issue.

Mpg improving a touch 500 miles in. Am getting 44-45 on the trip with incredibly gentle driving through town on a 5 mile trip to work. Think getting over 40 is a pretty decent achievement in this car it seems

That's more reassuring. Someone in another thread said they were getting 34.something MPG. That had me concerned because I currently get 32.4 MPG out of my non-hybrid 2.3L 280PS Focus ST. I guess someone just has a lead foot then :D

Hi, I noticed your post regarding acceleration lag on a new manual Qashqai. Did you ever get to the bottom of this or was it fixed?
I have a brand new Tekna 157 hp and have such problems with pulling off and acceleration lag when pulling off in lower gears, especially after slowing down to approach a roundabout or junction.
Many Thanks. J

I have a new Tekna+. Just wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between sport mode on the mode selector and sport mode on the gear stick? (D/Ds)

I asked a similar question nearly a year ago

I'm not sure is the honest answer but I tend to only change it with the drive mode selector. It certainly alters performance and steering. I don't use the gear lever to adjust it.
