Unfortunately I think you guys having problems with low speed pick up have a fault. Unless that is you are expecting a Qashqai to perform like an Ariel Atom :D

I have had my Tekna + xtronic for 4 weeks and have driven 850 miles. I have never experienced slower than expected acceleration and never felt the need for sport mode. It does seem more lively when running V Power petrol rather than the E10 crap.

Before ordering the new car I had 2 test drives of different Qashqai's and was looking for poor acceleration as I had previously tested the Audi Q3 which had so much lag it was scarey trying to get in gaps in the traffic. Both the demonstratier Qashqai's were fine.

Interesting opinion since several car magazine reports also complain about sluggish low-revs performance. The CVT may mask this somewhat.

I'll be jumping into my Qashqai from a 276bhp Focus ST - so it's definitely going to feel sluggish to me. I'll be hard-pressed to tell if it's underperforming.

Yes, I keep it on all the time and the Qashqai remembers the setting next time the car/engine is started. It also enables the Adaptive Driving Beam at the same time (where fitted). Every time the ADB activates, a “nag” screen appears on the Digital Cockpit to say it is working (this message can be turned off).

See below. Do people keep this setting on all the time?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Maybe it's only some cars that are effected, not all? Very strange

It went back in today for 4 door edge protectors, ordered originally but they only put one on it. No charge. Cleaned and hoovered so all good.
Had an auto n connecta on a 21 plate. At 44 first auto I’ve ever driven as thought they were for oldies haha. Very relaxing drive, esp in traffic and no sluggishness pulling away.
One for the future though, I like a bit more input when driving so will save that til older :D

I have a J12 auto and have noticed this hesitation which seems to happen every time you press the accelerator, even at motorway speed. I hope it gets sorted because this stands out as a negative in a car where just about everything else is a positive.

Did u mean u had an automatic loaner while your car was in getting done?
Be warned... once you go auto you'll never go back!!
I hated the idea of getting our first auto but my wife needed it. When we bought ine, I used the manual shifts for a while but very soon I got used to the laid back lazy drive!
They definitely aren't for everyone though, my friend has an automatic company car and his own manual car, he much prefers his own car but he has petrol running though his veins!
