Hi,
I like my qashqai (2019 Diesel) very much but I've had the car put the emergency brakes on now 5 times , one time a car nearly went into the back of me.
These 4 previous times were on slightly curved roads some with a small incline, however yesterday was on a straight road with slight incline, which I use multiple times a week, a single car was coming towards me and bang red alarm light and brakes slammed on, I could here the abs being used, it's just a matter of time before this happens and someone does go into me from behind, how the hell do you explain to the police the car brakes on its own?.
I've spoke to my dealership where I got the car from and they said there was no recall on mine and unfortunately is does happen, wtf ....., The women in the service desk says it does it with her's, I have to disable it when I have my wife or daughter in the car as it's just to violent when it happens
Does anyone know if I can just unplug it?, I've never needed things like this in 30+ years of driving.
If it can't be sorted I will have to think about changing the car.
Anybody else had this problem?
Thanks
Mark

What year is it...the radar fix (update) was about 2019.
There have been a number of complaints about it on this site circa 2017/18 but has not occurred since the update.
The dealership is wrong so get onto Nissan UK Customer Services...it is very dangerous.

My 2019 Diesel has had both updates ( I think there were 2 including a revised radar unit ) last year.
So, tell the Dealer to stop messing you about and do the updates.

Hi, it's a 2019, registered 18/03/19, so it's book time off work which is never reimbursed even when a fault is found, unfortunately I've just started a new job so can't take the time off, I might phone another dealer up and see if they will tell me if it's been updated.
At this time I turn it off when I start to use it, I'm wondering what happens if it's just uplugged.
I miss my 2004 Almera lol.

No problem, pal...always a good idea to try another dealership, the difference can be like night and day.
Ask them to pull up the entire recall history for the car and that way you will know if it has been done already.

Personally if its that bad then I'd suggest telling them you want it re calibrated, you can have these radars out of calibration and they can be pointing in the wrong direction ( setup incorrectly) and set the system off. If its still doing it then its probably an issue with the radar itself and recommend getting it replaced. I can check software levels if you can tell me what your radar and ADAS 2 current software levels are.

Thanks lewisbryant, I can't tell you what the software is as I don't know where to find it .
I called Wigan Nissan and they said they can't tell me if the car has had an update unless I take time off work and take it in to check?, Would this not be on my card history? They did admit having a few qashqais in for this problem.
More bloody technology to go wrong, can I not just unplug the radar.
