Im wondering if someone can help me.

I have a brand new 71 plate Qashqai Tecnik, and im having trouble opening the boot from the button that is under the steering wheel. The boot opens/closes fine with the key or the buttons on the tailgate, but i cannot get it to open while the car is in park and im sat in it, by pressing the button under the steering wheel - what am i doing wrong?

Unfortunately we'll have to wait for one of the few on here with a J12 to respond.

No one has discovered a downloadable handbook for the J12 yet and so the rest of us are in the dark.

You have to press the button for a second or two and then it opens the boot.

Yes, as @ilkka has mentioned, you need to press the button for at least a second or so.

I have just “tapped” the button inside the car briefly but of course nothing happens:

As with other answers. I operated the interior button with no ignition switched on, ignition only and engine running. All three opened and closed the boot. BUT, you do have to hold the button down rather than stab it, I made that mistake first time.

Mine (N-connecta) will also have the power gate. I'm a bit worried about how tall is it when open as I have a low ceiling box. Can you set the opening range?

Is there a kit available yet for J11's that can be retrofitted?

I will have a look at the owner’s manual later. I’m sure I saw mention of it?
