I have taken delivery of my Blade Silver J12 Tekna and I want to hardwire my dashcam. Managed fine on my J11 but can't seem to find the way to get the glove box off to get to the fuse box.....any tips/videos/instructions would be well received. Thanks

Welcome to this forum.

Congratulations on actually getting a car in the first place!

No one's reported J12 dashcam wiring yet. Presumably the fuse box is in the same place behind the glovebox and it's simply a matter of getting there? Looks like you'll have to get your camera out and shoot a step by step guide!

I have looked into wiring my dashcam, but won't be much help with fuse box since glovebox is on other side in my car.

If you have a rear cam and need help wiring that, I can help with tips.

The J11 was simple...unlatch retaining arm and pull the glove box firmly up and out. Can't find the retaining arm on J12 and to scared to pull on the box in case different fixings. And yes the fuse box is behind the box as it was in J11.

What does it say in the owner manual on how to get into the fuse box behind the glovebox ?

Unfortunately the owners manual doesn't speak about glove box removal. You can access the fuse box without removal, but I want to take cables out through side panel so need to get into the fuse area.

On my Uk Qashqai. I ordered a micro 2 fuse adaptor from Amazon (came in a pack of five) I ran this down out the of fuse box out to the side to the door rubber the earth wire to to the bolt on the door jam. And the dash cam wire carried on up the door rubber into the head linning.

Thanks for your help. At the end of the day, I got the dashcam fitted without removing the glovebox, although removing and inserting fuse was a bit fiddly. Did find it useful to remove the plastic cover between the passenger door and the glove box. From there I could feed wire to the fuse box (used the same fuse as McVicar - the front power socket) and had access to a hidden bolt for the earth (Holding on the glove box and marked with an "E") so no need to touch the door bolt. Wiring then up alongside and under the door and roof lining to emerge near the interior mirror. Job done, Thanks.

is it me , or is the wire for the dash cam so rigid that it induces rattles where ever it runs.

Ive run mine in a sleeve in order to make it silent - and it was a good quality dash cam - Nextbase
