Width restriction and J12 QASHQAI

Hi,
I hope to take delivery of a new 2021 Qashqai (J12) next month. :D.

My question is probably mainly aimed at UK owners and is about the many 6' 6" (2 meters) width restrictions on our roads. This includes a restriction just installed at one end of my road. Have any of you tried to get your 2021 Qashqai through one of these restrictions?

Unhelpfully Nissan only list the width of 1835mm without mirrors. I have seen larger cars go through 6'6" with mirrors folded.

I did search the forum so If this topic has already been covered please accept my apologies.

Hello @Superplonk and welcome to the forum.

I have found the width of the new Qashqai, including wing mirrors, on the Nissan GB website using the base model and the top-of-the range Tekna+ 4WD for comparison. The overall width, with mirrors, is listed as 2,084 mm (approximately 6' 10"?).

There aren't any roads near me with that kind of width restriction. :?

Nissan have also updated their online brochure (refer page 32 of attached for further dimensions):

Thank you all for the prompt reply. The "including mirrors" dimension is what I needed, at the time of ordering the dealership didn't have this.

It looks as if it will go with the mirrors folded... just. If my next post is how to change Qashqai mirrors it will require no explanation 😂

Button ‘4’ will fold/unfold the outside mirrors. You should also have an option, in the menu system, to unfold the mirrors when the car is unlocked or when you start the engine, for example.
Make sure that the model you’re buying has this feature!

Welcome to this forum.

No width restrictions around here at all.

For those wanting some entertainment, Google "Woodmere Avenue" - it's hilarious! Here's an example:

Watching that video has proven to me that people do not know the width of their cars, some of them missed by a long way

This is not only a problem in the UK !
The craziness to punish drivers for owning ... yes ordinary cars (instead of go-carts) is a shame.
This has npthing to do with being a good or a crazy driver ... the city itself is to blame for this and should be sued into oblivion !
