I've tried BOTH USB2 and USB3 sticks...

Both chuck back the same error.
Even tried all 3 USB ports on my Laptop.

Yet I can stick a MP3 USB in and it'll play fine - and that's a 128Gb USB 3 stick.

And the USB Stick I WAS using was working fine until after the recent map updates.....

wish I could help but mine updates via WiFi too, I just have to park as close to the house as possible x which reminds me I meant to buy a WiFi extender……

Tried again this morning...

Noticed that it puts up a "Check USB or iPod Device" error when I put in a freshly formatted USB Stick - either USB 2/3 or FAT32/NTFS/exFAT

However, put in my 128Gb Sandisk MP3 Stick, formatted to NTFS - and it'll play that quite happily.....

Tried to write to THIS USB stick to get a "Cannot write to USB" error...

Looks like another trip to Nissan on Monday morning!!!

@MikeGC
rather than struggle to get your car close to your home WIFI, could you not use your phone as a WiFI hotspot?

I could indeed but it isn’t a struggle.
I can walk between the car and garage door and there’s just enough signal to get the job done. A range extender will be "belt and braces"

It’s certainly something that your dealer will do.
It go to settings in the Sat Nav, look for connections, find WiFi, connect to your home WiFi and the car will tell you if there are updates.

Clearly you should be looking at the handbook rather than simply posting your question on here. Since you are now revealed to have the later head unit it's a simple job to update it yourself. Why pay the dealer?

Unusually (for Nissan) the Sat Nav map update is free, well it is at service time
