Wire into cabin

I'm planning to install a Defa blockheater and a Defa heater in the cabin. Have anyone done this before? I'm wondering where in the firewall I should run the wire through - drill a new hole or use existing hole- the wire is about 1,5cm in diameter. Model J11

Andei, welcome to the QQ Forum ! Where are you based ? It would appear somewhere Cold.
I have also never heard of this DEFA Blockheater, but I am assuming it is an Engine Warmer for the Winter much like the Webasto / Eberspaecher Systems - Dave 😉
Just looking at the example a Big Hole is needed which you might not find.

Engine heaters • Solutions designed for every car • DEFA : https://www.defa.com/electrical-preheat ... e-heaters/

I live in Norway and winter can be really cold. It's not unusal with tempratures below - 20. I understand that most of the users on this forum are not familiar with this thing. My question is therefore the possibility of getting a 1,5cm thick cabel through the existing hole which is located behind the air filter.

Personally , and working for an OEM manufacturer , I would not drill any holes in a structural part of the car.
If there is an existing blanked off hole , I would recommend using this as strength considerations have already been taken into account.

Maybe this is a bit too careful , but safety is number 1

This video may help let you see how big the existing hole is and if this can be used or not.
