Warning light

Evening everyone,

So today I brought a 2015 qashqai from a dealer about an hour or so from where I live.

This evening I had a dashboard light appear (pic attached) which I think relates to a brake problem. Before I drag myself back to the dealer I wanted everyone ms thoughts.

It was MOT’d on 2nd August… no problems and no minor concerns which means I think I can rule out brake pads problems (although happy to be told
Otherwise).

Brake fluid is low (ish) but above minimum level, brakes and drives fine… am getting used to the electric handbrake which is different from my disco 3.

Thanks

Alex

Morning

So the light appeared after I left the petrol station and stayed on when I drove last night. To be fair I’m having a few teething issues with the electronic hand brake… more it’s taking time to get used to learning how to release it when I move forward or backwards

ok the hand brake will auto-release when you pull away and when you park up and stop the car, no need to release it yourself. you will get used to it within the next week or so

Thanks, the amber (!) light is that related to my inability to use parking brake or a separate issue?

don`t release the brake yourself to day when you drive around if the amber light stays on then go back to the sales garage you got the car from as it should be covered as you only had car few days

Welcome to the forum

I never used to use the handbrake on mine - just let it auto disengage and auto engage.

Perhaps you're inadvertently putting it on when you think it's off?
